Duration: 2 hours
Level: Beginner-friendly
Create a ceramic jewelry tray that carries your personal touch. In this guided hand-building workshop, participants will shape a tray from clay and decorate its surface using leaves, lace, stamps and a selection of textured materials.
Every impression creates a unique pattern, making each tray a one-of-a-kind piece for holding jewelries, keys or other small treasures. After the workshop, the piece will be carefully dried, fired and finished by the MUD team.
Workshop Procedure:
1. Receive an introduction to slab-building and clay-imprinting techniques.
2. Roll and prepare a clay slab.
3. Select the desired tray shape.
4. Experiment with leaves, lace, stamps and texture tools.
5. Press the selected materials into the clay to create impressions.
6. Form the clay into a tray and refine its edges.
7. Add initials or other personal details if desired.
8. Select an available glaze finish.
9. Leave the piece with the MUD team for drying and kiln firing.
10. The participant will be contacted when the tray is ready for collection.
Please note: After the date of the class, Final Pieces will be ready in 5 weeks maximum and can be collected within 5 weeks from date of notification. Once the time exceeds the pieces that are not taken will be owned by MUD.
